How to Create an Email Address

Need a professional email like info@yourdomain.com? Creating one is quick and free with your hosting plan. No extra services required — just a few clicks to set up custom emails for business, family, or fun. This handles everything from username to storage limits.

This guide is for new users — simple steps, no tech jargon. We'll cover basics plus options like quotas and passwords.

Pro tip: Check our accessing email guide after creating one!

Why Create Emails in cPanel?

  • Pro look: Ditch Gmail — use @yourdomain for branding.
  • Unlimited (almost): Most hosts allow many accounts, with storage controls.
  • Easy management: Add, edit, or delete anytime.
  • Secure: Built-in spam filters and forwarding options.

Step 1: Log In to cPanel

  • Open your browser and go to your cPanel URL (e.g., yourdomain.com/cpanel or https://cpanel.lunarracks.com).
  • Enter your username and password (from hosting email).
Tip: If forgotten, use "Forgot Password" or ask your host.

Step 2: Navigate to Email Accounts

  • In the cPanel dashboard, scroll to the Email section.
  • Click Email Accounts (it has an envelope icon).
You'll see a list of existing emails (or none if first time).

Step 3: Create the New Email

  1. Click the blue + Create button (top-right or bottom).
  2. Select Domain: If you have multiple, pick from the dropdown (e.g., yourdomain.com).
  3. Username: Enter the part before @ (e.g., "info" for info@yourdomain.com). Keep it short, no spaces/special chars except ._-.
  4. Password:
    • Click Generate for a strong one (recommended).
    • Or type your own (must be secure: 8+ chars, mix letters/numbers/symbols).
    • Note it down securely!
  5. Mailbox Quota:
    • Set storage limit (e.g., 500 MB for small use).
    • Or choose Unlimited (We allow it — check plan limits to avoid overages).
  6. Optional Settings:
    • Check Send welcome email to get setup instructions auto-sent.
    • Add aliases or forwarders later if needed.
  7. Click Create at the bottom.
Warning: Unlimited quotas can fill your hosting space fast — monitor via Quota column!

Step 4: Verify & Test

  1. Back in Email Accounts, your new email appears in the list.
  2. Click Check Email to log in via Webmail (test sending/receiving).
  3. Send a test from another account — it should arrive!
