Sharing server management access

Team players! Running a Minecraft realm or Rust clan? Sometimes you need help without handing over full control. Users in game panel let you share access — like giving friends keys to restart the server or upload mods, but not delete everything. Perfect for co-admins, builders, or moderators.

This guide is for everyday gamers — easy steps, no tech overload. We'll cover adding, permissions, and removing. Takes 5 minutes!

Why share access?

  • Teamwork makes the dream work: Let pals manage plugins while you raid bosses.
  • Safe sharing: Custom permissions means no "oops, I wiped the world."
  • No full login: They have their own account - keep your password a secret.
  • Auto-setup: Newbies get an email to create their panel account

Pro Tip: Only add trusted folks. Wrong permissions = potential chaos!

Step 1: Log in to your panel

  1. Go to our game panel (https://panel.lunarracks.com)
    1. Log in with your email and password.
    2. Click on your server from the list.
  2. or log in to My Rack (https://my.lunarracks.com)
    1. Go to your server.
    2. Click the Server Overview.
    3. Click on GO TO CONTROL PANEL.

Tip: Bookmark our panel link so you can jump in fast! Have your friends save the panel link!

Step 2: Head to the "Users" tab

  1. Look at the top navigation bar.
  2. Click Users

You'll see a list of current users (if you are the owner, your account wont show up.)

Step 3: Create a new subuser

  1. Click New User
  2. Enter their email address (ask them which one!):
    1. If they have a Lunar Racks account: User that!
    2. If they do not have an account: They will get an invite email to sign up.
  3. Set Permissions: This is key! Check boxes for what you want them to do
    1. Control: Start/stop/restart server
    2. Console: Send commands (be careful!)
    3. Files: Read/write/upload/delete files
    4. Backups: Create/restore (great for helpers)
    5. Database: Manage if your game uses them
    6. Schedule: Edit auto-tasks
    7. Settings: Change RAM/ports (usually owner-only)
    8. Users: Add more users to share access with (avoid unless a top-trusted)
  4. Click Invite User

Pro Tip: Start minimal - e.g. control + files read-only. You can always add more later.

Step 4: They join in

  • Shared user will get an email (check spam!)
  • They login (to our panel https://panel.lunarracks.com), and see your server in their dashboard
  • Done! They can help you without full access.

Bonus: Edit or remove users

  1. Back in Users tab.
  2. Find their email in the list.
  3. Click the Edit icon.
    1. Tweak permissions -> Save.
  4. Or Delete to remove access (they will still be able to login, but will no longer have access to your server)

Warning: Deleting doesn't delete the panel account - it just revokes access to your server.
